Welcome to People Living with HIV/AIDS Western Australia's home on the Web!

PLWHA WA was established in 2005 as a peer to peer support group by a group of HIV positive people in 2005. PLWHA WA is a friendly independent peer to peer support group, run by members for members, for HIV+ people and their friends and family. PLWHA WA provide a safe, non-threatening, confidential, non-judgemental and supportive environment for the sharing of information and fellowship.

PLWHA WA aims to promote a positive image of People with HIV/AIDS, with the aim of eliminating stigma, prejudice, isolation and discrimination. In partnership with The HIV Consumer Alliance, PLWHA WA actively engages in health promotion activities to prevent the spread of HIV and safeguard the rights of PLHIV in Western Australia.

It's time for a Patient Bill of Rights Now! https://plwhawa.org/advocacy/its-time-for-a-patient-bill-of-rights

At People Living with HIV/AIDS WA (PLWHA WA), we advocate for a comprehensive Patient Bill of Rights in Western Australia—a statutory framework that ensures every individual receives compassionate, fair, and accountable healthcare. This bill would enshrine informed consent, protection from discrimination, and the right to reparations for harm, transforming voluntary complaints into binding, enforceable processes.

The HIV Consumer Alliance of WA, The Perth Sisters of the Order of Perpetual Indulgence (OPI Perth) & The Friends of the WA AIDS Memorial Group support People Living with HIV/AIDS in WA, without Stigma and discrimination, anyone affected by HIV/AIDS in Western Australia! PLWHA WA is Sponsored by CADT Photography, Fagmedia Organisation & QuarkBeat Centre for Teaching and Learning.
